{"id":12569,"date":"2025-11-18T14:27:20","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T14:27:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/meridianglobalservices.com\/?p=12569"},"modified":"2025-11-18T14:27:20","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T14:27:20","slug":"lithuania-vat-rate-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/meridianglobalservices.com\/de\/lithuania-vat-rate-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"Lithuania &#8211; VAT rate changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From 1st January 2026 Lithuania will increase the reduced VAT rate of 9% to 12%.<\/p>\n<p>With the increase of the reduced VAT rate from 9% to 12%, several goods and services previously subject to the 9% VAT rate have been re-categorised and will be subject to the following VAT rates from 1st January 2026.<\/p>\n<p><u>The VAT rate will increase from the old VAT rate of 9% to 21% on the following supplies: <\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thermal energy (heating)<\/li>\n<li>Hot water supplies to residential premises<\/li>\n<li>Firewood and wood products<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>The VAT rate will increase from the old VAT rate of 9% to 12% on the following supplies: <\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accommodation services related to tourism activities.<\/li>\n<li>Passenger transport services and passenger luggage transport.<\/li>\n<li>Admission and event tickets to all types of art and cultural institutions, as well as to art and cultural events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The VAT rate will decrease from the old VAT rate of 9% to 5% on the following supplies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Printed and electronic books, as well as printed informational publications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From 1st January 2026 Lithuania will increase the reduced VAT rate of 9% to 12%.
