Lithuania – Bill proposing change in reduced VAT rate approved

The Lithuanian parliament approved an increase in the reduced VAT rate from 9% to 12% with implementation date 1st January 2026. This change will apply to:

  • passenger transport services
  • admission to art / cultural events and institutions,
  • accommodation services,
  • catering services and take-away food,
  • e-books and journals,

The 21% standard VAT rate and 5% reduced VAT rate will remain unchanged.
