Spain – Intrastat sanctions

The new regulation on the Intrastat sanction procedure came into effect in January 2025, whereby Statistical office may review an Intrastat period of up to 6 months to verify the accuracy of the data submitted. The taxpayer will now have 10 days to submit allegations and provide further documents to the Statistical Office. Additionally, classifications of infringements and its fines has been specified in the regulation.
