Irland - Haushalt 2026 - Änderungen der Mehrwertsteuersätze

Oktober 8, 2025 EU-Umsatzsteuer-Update

The Irish Budget was announced on 7th October 2025 and included the following VAT measures:

  • The 9% reduced VAT rate on gas and electricity which was due to expire in 2025, will now remain in place until 31st December 2030.
  • The VAT rate on food, catering and hairdressing services will reduce from 13.5% to 9% from 1st July 2026.
  • The VAT rate on the sale of newly constructed apartments will reduce from 13.5% to 9%, this reduction in VAT will apply with immediate effect from 8th October 2025, until 31st December 2030.
