Netherlands – New bank account for tax payments from May 2026
Effective 1 May 2026, the Dutch Tax Administration (Belastingdienst) will switch their primary bank from ING to Rabobank. As a result, the bank account numbers (IBANs) for tax payments, including VAT (btw), will change.
Important Deadlines & Actions
– Until 30 April 2026:
Businesses must continue using the existing ING account numbers. The new Rabobank numbers will not work before 1 May.
– From 1 May 2026:
Businesses must update any manual transfers, address books in their banking app, or automated administration software to the new IBAN.
The new account numbers will be printed on all assessment notices and letters sent from May onwards.
To avoid fraud or phishing, businesses should always verify account numbers against the official list on the Belastingdienst website before making a transfer.
