Change in the Data Collection Application for Intrastat in Sweden
Statistic Office in Sweden (SCB) is undergoing a major transition in how it collects trade data (surveys on Special Movements of Goods and Intrastat). Starting in 2026, the long-standing IDEP.web application will be phased out and replaced by a new data collection platform, which is already used for other surveys by Statistic Office in Sweden.
Key Changes for Reporting Entities
Phased Migration:
The transition to the new application will occur in stages throughout 2026. SCB will contact each company individually when it is their turn to switch systems.
Discontinuation of IDEP.web:
Once all reporting entities have been successfully migrated to the new platform, the current IDEP.web service will be permanently discontinued.
Integrated Survey Scope:
The new application will handle data collection for both the Intrastat survey (EU trade) and the Special Movements of Goods survey.
Transition Benefits
The move is part of the Statistics Office “Statistical Production 4.0” initiative. The goal is to:
– Reduce Administrative Burden by utilizing a modern interface already used for other SCB surveys, the process becomes more streamlined.
– The new system aims for smarter data processing and better integration with existing business systems.
